Joe was rescued from a life of delinquency by the sheer grace of God at the age of 15 years. He went on to study medicine and qualified as a medical doctor from NUIG in 1981 (see www.joefitzgibbon.ie for his professional interests).
He then met Aoife, promptly fell in love and they married in 1982. They have four wonderful children, Aisling, Fiona, Brian and Caoimhe. They are now all married themselves so their family has expanded to welcome a daughter in law and three sons in law as well as four grandchildren.
He loves to study the Bible in some depth and he’s even trying his hand at Classical Hebrew – that beautiful language of the original Old Testament Scripture.
In his spare time he likes to keep reasonably fit with a little gym work. He is an enthusiastic and frequent scuba diver and amateur underwater photographer.
Sean moved to Galway in 1991 and is a test engineer by profession. He is married to Helen and they have four children.
When Jesus told a dying criminal that "today you will be with me in paradise", He left the world with an extraordinary message - that no individual and no situation is beyond hope or redemption. That message is as vital and as relevant today as it was then.
Any day which gives us the opportunity to convey or deliver this hope in some small way to someone who needs it is a day well spent.
Esther Kamara is a remarkable individual who exudes God-fearing qualities, straightforwardness, and a kindhearted spirit. She finds great joy in helping and counselling people, evident in her role as an Administrator at GCF Church for the past four years.
Her primary responsibility is to act as a bridge between the pastor and the congregation, ensuring that everyone is on the same page. Esther is always available to provide relevant information about GCF to members and non-members, and she gives logistics that support the day-to-day activities of the church. Her commitment to her work is admirable, and it is no surprise that she graduated from the University of Galway with a Master's Degree in Information System Management.
Esther is also a devoted wife to her heart's desire, Abuchie, and they have been blessed with five beautiful children.
Our goal is to create a church home for you to better feel God's love and hear His Words.
